Micro-Folie : Atelier « Mission architecte, dans la peau d’un charpentier
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Megève Micro-Folie is pleased to offer a workshop entitled “Mission architecte, dans la peau d'un charpentier” (Architect's mission, in the skin of a carpenter) to learn about the work of carpenters.
At the Palais auditorium.
This activity mixes brain-teasing and hands-on practice: everyone can build a reduced-scale paper truss that fits on a table... and can even support a weight!
The aim: to understand how buildings stand upright, while having fun with notions of geometry, balance and structure.
The animation is inspired by the work of carpenters on the Notre-Dame de Paris restoration site. Through this playful challenge, young and old alike will discover the carpenter's trade, its essential role in the history of architecture, and the techniques used on major building sites past and present.
It's an activity that's accessible to all, and a great way for families to learn while building together!
